wearing after 7 months of intensive use

Here's the sling i've been using for 7 months almost from day to day, and stil working ok,  nylon cord has wear at some degree in the outside braided cover, but the structure stay in one piece.

Here's a pic of the medical tape asymetric pouch, note some wearing at the upper edges of the projectile exit side, (the narrow side pointing right) this only affect part of the medical tape layers, inner nilon cord still like new.

Nice tough sling. Holds up well to Heavy Duty Use, just my style too.  I am intrigued by sling asymetries, having cut a "Cobra" pattern in several leather pouches and used thinner cord for the release side.  Pancaker mentioned using asymetry of the top and bottom edges of the pouch as well--sounds worth pursuing...

How do you connect your retention and release cords under the tape?

When it comes to slinging, your clearly stick to it.

basicly the sling is made of 2 cord pieces wich overlap to form the pouch, The extremes of the overlapping are sewn trough and tied around . then i spread the overlapping cords to form the pouch , at this point you can give it simetric or asymetric form, then  just apply several layers of medical  cloth tape .
As soon as possible i'll post a tutorial with pics  Grin

Fritz_the_Cat, you ought to use the cloth type  medical tape, not the plastic or the paper like kind. Cloth type (sort of canvas made of cotton or viscose)usually comes in white or in flesh colour,  Anyway slings get dirty pretty soon so  color and decorations don't  stand  in mint conditions for too long. The most important issue is that the glue is good enough and it gets tape layers well bonded together.
Here's how it looked when it was new.  Grin

Hi Taiki,  this 5 mm nylon cord is flexible, similar to 5 or 6 mm  dynamic climbing rope.  I use it cause it's the one i had at hand, but you can use any similar made of poly propylene or even climbing cord, though climbing cord its a lot more expensive, anyway you won't need too much rope lenght.

Hi Tint i'll post a tutorial with pics very soon, it's of very simple construction,
Here in Spain we buy medical tape at  the shops where they sell medication  (pharmacy) also in medical supplies shop. even in some  "all at 1 euro" shops.

wow, you need to get some duct tape. buy a case online or something. it's the most usefull inevention ever. if it can't be fixed with thermite or epoxy, ducktape will do the job.

I recently make a pouch out of duck tape; i'll post that soon. I also just mentioned ducktape fletching in another post.
