I have made something even closer. For thousands of years, cultures had little books. They were made of wood or ivory with a suare hollow in the center. The hollow was filled with wax. You used a stylus to write things in the wax, and the other end has an "Eraser, that will rubout the writing. The smallest ones were only big enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Right! They were used by any litereate person . A recent find in Northern England called the Vindolana find produced hundreds of these tablets from the Roman Occupation. They had on them anything from soldier's orders, to schoolwork, to love letters.
