Slinging cartoon character
Jan 9th, 2006 at 4:08pm

Ok, I'm trying to make a slinging cartoon character (for a comic, not a film).
What I was thinking was making a hat to him, I wanna have a hat with a feather, but anyhow I make the hat, it looks like some stupid Robin Hood.
I could make him indian, but it'll be too easy to copy "Redeye", and I don't want that. But, of course, if I just get the character different from Redeye, it doesn't matter.

If I just get the hat (or something else, like just a thing around the head with a feather), and the face right, I won't have any trouble with the body.
So, all you artists and other slingers, can you help me with this?

Gard

P.S. Name...?

Haha, at school today, I drew what I thought he could look like, and my friends said what they did/didn't like, so I think what I've got now is pretty OK.
The hat got like a Robin Hood looking thing, but you don't think of Robin Hood when you see it. The hair...the hair is like those Indian hair things, like "Redeye". Yeah, I know, I wasn't gonna make him Indian, but I just liked that hair so it just got like that.
The face took a little time, but I copied a little from different comics, his nose got long, and he has not much of a chin.
The clothes, he only has a skirt/kilt looking thing, and a pair of moccasins, but it looks cool anyway.

Ok, if you give me a little time, I'll take a picture. I have used, just as usual, lots of eraser, most around the hat/feather. Roll Eyes

P.S. The name...? I was thinking of (if Hondero here at the forum accepts) "Hondero The Slinger". So, if Hondero thinks it's OK, he'll have that name. Roll Eyes

Ok, I changed him.
I thougth that with the Indian hair, he would look much like some characters in "Redeye", so I thought how I could change him.
Hmm, he needs regular hair, and I made him regular hair, and I also took away that thing from the bottom of the hat. Hmm, he can't have that skirt-looking thing, but pants would be too little original, so I thought a little, and then the idea came to me: Kilt! Roll Eyes
So now it's Hondero - the Scottish Slinger!
Here's a pic, I drew it at an A2 paper this time, so it looks much better than small:
http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=1/1810045451.jpg&s=x11

I have modyfied the last message too, putting a better pic there too, also at A2 paper.

I'm working with his dogs, he's going to have two of them looking just the same, exept one has has a hat Roll Eyes

So is he better as a Scot? Roll Eyes

Love it!! needs a good Scottish name, though.
Could simply be " Mac", or how about " MacCarriag", which means Son of the Rock".

As far as I remember there is a Finn McCool in Keltic myths. So call your scot Flint mcCool.
And early scots did wear trousers. It was more recent that they started to wear kilts.
