I am still a beginner, but being able to use both hands for most things, and learning things like writing very slowly, I tried slinging with either hand too. I find I make the same mistakes and get like results. Same distances and same amount of distance between the hits.

Maybe those lefthanders in the bible were people who, like me, could use both hands with the same ease.

Exactly what part of which theory regarding left handers are you referring to, Lobohunter?

I think he meant out of the 385 members on this forum, only 7 are left handed.  So their is really not enough reference to prove lefties are better. Undecided

When the bible mentioned left handed slingers did they mean right hand loads and the left slings ? Or does a left handed slinger load with his left hand ? Tongue

A right-handed slinger holds the rock with her left hand and swings the sling with her right hand. That's common usage, everybody understands what is meant, and I expect the same would hold three thousand years ago.

Therefore, a left-handed slinger holds the rock with his RIGHT hand and swings the sling with his LEFT.

If I remember right, in some of the old text they talked about lefthanded slingers who would be able to sling with the right hand as well as with the left hand. (But I do not remember where I read that, somewhere on this site, but not where.)

So they would be able to hold the rock in either hand and use the sling in the other hand.

Yes, Willeke this was brought up before.  In some old text when they say some slingers were good left handed, it actually ment that they were good EVEN with their left hand.

I do most things right handed, but some few things I do left handed.
In the Norwegian dance "gangar", you tap both feet, first one foot, then the next, kind of like heart rhytm. Right handed people would tap right foot first, but I start with left. Snowboarding I do wrong way too.

I've tried slinging left handed, pretty bad, but figure-8 was easiest, dunno why. I'll practice a little, perhaps I can get better. Roll Eyes

I say definitely learn with both hands. I'm still learning how to use some tools, so I try to teach myself left and right handed (naturally i'm a lefty), and so far it's been pretty helpful.

Anyone try slinging two stones at once?

you'd have to use straight overhand or underhand techniques and you'd lose the power of your body rotating, but it could work. Grin
