I responded to Knight personally about his question, but thought I'd share it with all of you.

I think it is an interesting idea, especially for people to exchange and sell there work with slings.  Not sure about bones, gems, and the other stuff.  However, I think the forum is equipped to handle this for the time being.  People should use this category, the "Administrative and Other Topics" section.  If there are lots of people posting, and the demand merits creation of a brand new section, I'll set it up.

this a very interesting topic and quite fun to listen to.
Heres what I would be willing to do.
I would be willing to trade say 3-6 of my big game broad head ammo for a really nice braided sling say 43inchs long at the fold
here a pic of the ammo i am talking about
feild points or broad heads

I might give this a go.  Are we talking braided/woven, or just regular braided, Balearic style here?

post a pic of what you can do.
i was thinking something along the lines of jim burdine's braded slash woven slings.
but the fact is I am not real sure. the idea here is true try a good braided thing to see if I like it. with out having to braid one the first time.
and english I would have to see if the broad heads could even be ship to your country

Up for a swap.
Sling, used once.
Made out of braided string. The make of the string is Geolon, I guess it is a kind of nylon.
The sling is started by the woven pouch. The cords are then braided. I dropped strands in the braiding so it goes from 16 strands down to 8, on both cords.
The overall length is fold to end of the cords max 1.5 meter. (59") I will make an eye at the length indicated. I think I can get it without losing length.
The pouch is 15cm long. (nearly 6") The split 5 cm (2") on either side of the split the pouch is 1 cm. Making the pouch 3 to 4 cm wide when in use.
As you can see in the picture, the cords are starting on the weave, I have picked up the cords of the weave from the place they dropped out of the weave. Those are the pro's of the sling.
I would like to swap agains different things depending on where you live. The worth of the goods to be agreed about. As this is a trial sling, I will want to hear about its performance in use.

So tell me if you would like to own this string and we will get to an agreement.

Willeke
