Stinging nettles are very common in England, but I don't know about other places.  It's a normal experience for a kid to be stung by nettles.  A bunch of leaves tied onto light arrows for pissing people off, yeah, that makes sense.  But the leaves are edible when cooked, so why waste them?

If you pick them enough, you just know how not to get stung, rather than simply being immune.  Nettle leaves actually taste ok, when steamed.

Steaming makes them taste a lot nicer.  In my opinion.

In Western New York we have a plant called indian Hemp. When prepared right, it can be spun just like any other fiber. Very strong too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musk

In Ayurveda, Musk has been considered as a life saving drug and used in various cardiac, mental and neurological disorders. It has also been included in various compound formulations like Kasturi Bhairav Ras, Kasturi Modak, Mrignabhyadi Vati and Mrigamadsar etc., which have wide therapeutic applications.

Thanks guy!
I once used it to preserve a piece of burning coal, I was doing experiment on starting fire using ancient technologies.
I put some musk inside a cow horn, put the coal in, and 2 days after I've been able to start another fire using that coal!
Greetings,
Mauro.
