I've never ried barley, but mint is great. I've also tried sassafrass, alfalfa, sasparilla root, red clover and a lot of commercial herbal teas

I like sassafrass, mint. I was going to try willow tea but have never gotten around to it. I had lots of commerical herbal tea, any thing on sale in fact.  Cheesy

I only drink tea, and water. On occasion ill have something with alchole in it. thats all i drink right there. I dont like pop too sweet for me.

Gunpowder, ginger, mint, femented, green, bitter, sweet, and any dried or fruit skins are all good to mix together!
I personally like orange skin (not the white bitter part), lavender, and cammomile (or however you spell that). It's good if you have insomnia. It means a good nights rest.

Now, Brit, you know that's not true. Cheesy

Gunpowder is a Chinese tea that's basically "shake" or the little bits and pieces from regular black tea.

Camellia sinensis. Give me Darjeeling any day of the week, in fact I'm drinking it right now. Earl Grey (ugh!) became popular after the captain on Star Trek called it out by name, but it tastes like drinking melted tyres. Smiley

At night, of course, Sleepytime Tea.

The Japanese make a mugi cha or barley tea, which mixes barley with black tea. Umai desu!

Well I have to say that I don't like Earl Grey.  It's too fruity.  Or something.  I'd rather just have a cup of regular English breakfast tea.  By which I mean, tea from India that is called English breakfast tea.
There's a whole bunch of wild plants that make fairly good tea.  I've only tried a few.  But actually, I have to confess that I often carry around a small box of Jasmine tea bags in my pack on a trek.  Probably my favourite tea, actually, especially out and about, as it requires no milk.

Interesting cultural point:

We, in America, think it is absolutely BIZZARE to put milk in tea. The first time I tried it, I put milk in a cup of white tea and it was very good. I don't know that I'd put it in the more flavorful teas.
I guess Americans see putting milk in tea in the same light as putting katsup on steak.

We, myself included, also generaly think putting mayonaise on french fries (chips) is absolutely disgusting! Tongue
