Maces
Sep 20th, 2004 at 1:26pm

So does anybody have a mace?  Not just a club, but a real mace with the spikes and the metal and everything?  Any information about them?  Ways to make them?  Information on the difference between chain mace and regular?  Tips on the use of maces?   Smiley

haha a friend of mine is a welder he made me a flanged mace for watching his kid..

Not all maces are spiked. A flange mace is just a tube of metal with fins welded on them. Easey to make if you can weld.

a chain mace is called a flail i also have one of these but its crap and just a decoration.

maces where used by monks and peasents Monks liked them becase they did not spill good christian blood...

peasents like them becase they where cheap and easy to make.

I like them becase its fun to smash 2lt and soda cans with them..

altho guess what im going to say....If your guess was war hammer your right...Hahah

What did your friend use to mont the handle? What was the dementions of the tube he welded the fin to? I can weld very good so i might make one. Ever see cold steels mace? Pretty cool too. Got any pics?

well i dont know the sizing and all but here is what he did.

It looks just like the cold steel mace.

he took a handy tube just any steel tube and cut out some fins however many you want i have like 6 fins then he just welded them to the tube. First he mounted it on a pice of rebar then saying that it was too heavy took it back off and put it on a pice of ash put a wedge up top and the langets you see at the bottom of cold steel stuff. As for sizing i have no clue.
