Portuguese vs. Spanish (1385)

This website says:

"1385 Portuguese effectively use slings against the Spanish."
http://www.warscholar.com/Year/TechnologyOutline.html

Does anyone have any information on what even this was, or better yet, where slings played in?

Chris

Yeah, that was in the battle of Aljubarrota, where the Portugueses got their independence of Spain. They have been found slings in the "covas de lobo", a sort of defensive holes on the ground from which they shot theirs weapons.
