You know how a spiderweb looks?
I thought to tie a net and put weights at the outer ends and twist the web around a slotted stick that would slip out when net is pulled close. When thrown the spinning action would spread the weights and net. Maybe the direction of spin could determine how quickly the net spreads, or it may tangle if the spin goes against the twist of the net. Maybe tissue paper could hold it together for more distance.

The other day while at deer camp I almost killed a squirrel with my sling. He was climbing a tree and I let the stone go. It hit right beside him, what i mean be that is there were two trees and it hit one of the trees. another two inches to the left and he would have been dead.

Anyone else taken game with a sling besides me? I took one rabbit, on the second shot.
Never took aim at animal since. Too devastating for such small game.
I suspect dog size is ideal, or pig size.

I once hit a bird by accident. I was showing a friend of mine how the sling work at a beach. I slung a few times at the seagulfs resting by the water and we had fun watching them fly away in flocks. Then on my 6th or 7th throw one of the birds didn't fly off. The stone must have broken it's wing and it was screaming in pain. We were so scared and felt so bad that we ran away. I still regret it to this day.
I wasn't aiming at any of the birds in particular. It was pure chance that the stone hit anything at all.

I managed to kill a squirrel! Not on purpose though. i was using a river rock and i was just trying to hit near it. i ended up useing an over hand and it hit him right in the chest and collapsed.
i felt kind of guilty because it was near my neighbors squirrel feeder though. but i got one all the same. from about 20 to 30 ft away too.

Make a little wallet out of him and decorate it with his bones.

The wallet is making up for the sin you committed against mother nature and your siblings...
Its making things right again!

thats not what i mean
a fur wallet adorned with the bones of the creature would at some point in my life have been the eptomy of evil (i still Hate fur coats and the likes aspecially when old rich lady's wear em and bought them for ridiculous amouts of money) but now it seems ok and the look of the wallet actually apeals to me
..
in short what this site has done to me
