thats the beauty of the chain ammo could be just three links of logging chain.
heres how i decide i take the chain i have i the amount in the sling that feels the right weight . the sling i use for hurling chains is a solid leather tri cord no nots just a tapered tab and the pockets really deep.
so far it looks like any chain will work with the exception of cycle chain
cant wait to actuly try to hunt with the chains target practice has been great.

Speaking of shot, has anybody ever tried making a kind of shotgun effect using, say .177 caliber BB's?  Maybe wrapped in a piece of a plastic grocery bag (like the little plastic thing that comes out when you fire a shotgun)?

solobo I have done that. All you do is take some bb"s and then i took toliet paper and put it in to a ball. Once you sling it the force breaks the toliet paper and the bb's go everywhere.

BBs are a bit lightweight to do any hunting with, even with a sling, but if you did the toilet paper thing with a handful of small pebbles, then that would work better.  In fact, I might give that a go next time I go slinging.

if i was going to load a hunting shot i would make it like the turkey duplex loads. A couple big round, some medum shot and a lot of small shot. If all else fells use 00 or 000 buckshot. I think my toliet paper WAD will work with any shot you like.

The other day I made a bola just out of some fishing string and some fishing weights. I thought it worked well but I lost it because fishing line is hard to see. Roll Eyes
