was experimenting today.
discovered that i get the best accuracy when i point my opposite (non-sling) shoulder at the target.
this means i end up standing perpendicular to the target.

Me, too, with the underhand or side-arm casts. With overhand, I stand more towards the target, at about a 45 degree angle.

My body position is more lateral to an aim, similar to that one on my avatar but usually the left hand isn't so scenically erect

In the shape, structure and position of each stone, there is recorded a small piece of history. So, slinging them, we add a bit of our history to them.

Net-Speak for the little "Yurek slinging" icon under his name... yup, you need to know a whole second language. (avatar is bit of an old-school concept if you can call anything on the web that!) I don't know what the kids are calling them these days - probably something spelled shorthand with mostly numbers!

There was an documentary on tv a while back (Scientific American Frontier with Alan Alda) in which novel ideas for training athletes were discussed.
One involved throwing sports; they found that accuracy was improved by properly "addressing" the target - looking at the target and pointing at it with the free hand. The term is, I think, proprioception.

I find that pointing with my free hand at my target boast my accuracy considerably when using the overhead twirl technique.
