Finally here's a pic of the sling i'm currently using...this is also an attempt of how to post embedded pics.
Ahem... well... i see it's a huge one...
This is braided with 3 nylon 5 mm cords of aprox. 6 yards each. (you can see the cord at the upper right corner) cord is white, but due to intensive use, (and no washing
) sling turned grey-brown... this is made the same as balearic ones and it's how sheppards do here in the south of spain too.
By accident in the upper right corner there is my "Ulu" eskimo knife used by skimo women for cooking, slicing, skinning, gutting, cutting skins for dressing and lot of other "ings"
I made it out of a wide bricklayer's shovel with a dremel and the handles are quick epoxi putty I've used it for gutting and slicing some tuna fish, slicing vegetables, cooking, and skinning some cow, and is cool once you get used to it, cause at 1st is very differen to handle than ordinary knives. I'll post another pic of the ulu in the other primative weapons section.
