If so, then it may have something to do with your pocket size/design and ammo choice. I use a star shaped pocket and lead ammo which is allowed to dump clean from the pocket having no contact with the sling cords at all.

It didnt tangle on launch, but it was a mess to keep straight while loading. And it had to be stored with the lines wound on a spool. Just all-round tuff to manage. mgreenfield

In my version It seems to be a cross of under hand and side arm. Is that similar to yours Johny?
