Would the improved resistance to tangling be due to the thicker and possibly stiffer lines resulting from the braiding you describe?

I bought a lucet awhile ago with the intention of making a sling. I was wondering if anyone else has ever used lucet braid for making the string?
In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, a lucet is a U shaped piece of wood that allows you to use a single string to make a cord. The design is over 1000 years old.

Wow, that’s pretty cool. I've never heard of that.
I’m wondering though... I can understand how it can make the cord thicker, but it still would only be one cord. And the individuals weave s or knots would only be connected by a single cord, no? So there wouldn't a strength advantage, right?

If you like to throw smaller rocks or smooth round ammo such as ball bearings, this style of pocket would hold the rock better.
As to how to make one......I have no clue ???
