I bought a lucet awhile ago with the intention of making a sling. I was wondering if anyone else has ever used lucet braid for making the string?

In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, a lucet is a U shaped piece of wood that allows you to use a single string to make a cord. The design is over 1000 years old.

I’m wondering though... I can understand how it can make the cord thicker, but it still would only be one cord. And the individuals weave s or knots would only be connected by a single cord, no? So there wouldn't a strength advantage, right? Chris

As to how to make one......I have no clue ???
