Title: Moche Toss for slinging

This would be a fantastic event for a slinging get-together.

Something similar could certainly be designed for the sling...maybe just a paratrooper. Or maybe one of Jaegoors parachute sling balls.

That's really cool. Would you need specialist sling ammo for hitting the target like with the atlatls?

That looks lime fun!

You could probably do actual clay shooting with a y-sling launcher and a shotgun sling too

This weekend I’m actually going to a shotgun club to try my best to hit a clay pigeon with the sling , going to use a full battery when filming I have no doubt and hopefully I can afford the amount of shots it’s going to take me. Very excited to try but also very intimidating. I’ll be on display for everyone to see.

Mersa, if you get good at that, then we should see if we can get you hired to put on a show here in San Antonio at the NSSF shooting complex. They do the national skeet championship here every October, and it’s always a big production.

Well I was allowed to sling at the shotgun club.
Was funny the whole club basically laughed at me and said “good luck”.  “You think you can keep up with the clay they move at 66mph”. “You want to sacrifice your shots to throw rocks?”

Then I was only allowed 6 shots but it was well worth it.
0/6 but was pretty consistent groups and was pretty close for first 6 throws of the day with no warmup.
I’m as happy as I can be for what went on,

Basically after the gun club was well impressed and I’m sure they went home and told their wives.

Below is a clip where hopefully you see how close I was getting

if I'd had the faintest idea where the clay was - I suspect I'd have been impressed :-)

Given that a handheld clay launcher is easy to get or make and boxes of clays are pretty cheap.

or what I'd probably go for:

I don't see why it shouldn't be an event at the next organised sling gathering :-)

I'd probably either use  ahandful of pebbles - or and actual sling 'shotgun round'.
Whish is a bunch of small even pebbles/gravel wrapped in a thin sheet of tissue paper.

That was awesome Mersa! Unbelievably close. I would definitely be up for giving it a go but I doubt I'd get within a mile.

That's great Mersa!  Good throw!  It definitely looks like a tricky one, being that the throwing motion is started before you even see the target.

This was not my closest shot of the 6 but the easiest to see the clay. I have a friend who said he has an old clay thrower in his shed , he said we could probably get it running and have a go.

It was super fun but I was in a birthday brewery tour with 17 of my friends, this was the first stop before the beers started flowing , there was a lot of pressure to perform not only in front of the actual gun club members but some of my friends. Like I said I was happy with the outcome. And I feel like the gun club would let me back if I asked

Timing the correct time to call “pull” was a hard part and the fact the clay had 3 different possible directions it can fire but that all plays to an advantage I guess because they were truly surprise shots where I only had a fraction of a second to try “aim”

This is something I could really get into. I’d like to try a shotgun style round and see if it helps. It’s on my list of things to try for sure. I might try edit a small video of all 6 shots and see if I can zoom or change the colour to try see the clays easier.
