Let me know if you are interested in a tutorial for this lanyard.

No one interested?  That is discouraging.

That is a beautiful braid asemery.  Using the term 'braid' because I'm not sure if this should be considered a braid or a knot.  Please drop any discouragement you might have.  Your posts don't get many replies, but I look forward to them.

This lanyard looks like it uses a 4 strand braid technique.  Is that correct?

This is NOT a braid - It is a 2 bight TH knot - I posted the instructions - see Long 2 Bight TH Knot (aka One Cord Lanyard)

So this knot kind of fascinated me.  I finally had some time to play around with it.  My first attempt came out pretty good, so we can play a little game.

In the image below, which one is a braid, and which one is a knot?  Any guesses?  If you're making a guess, I'm also curious as to what brought you to your choice.  In a day or two I'll post the full image which will reveal the answer.

And because it was actually linked in another thread, the tutorial from asemery is here if anyone wants to take a look: http://slinging.org/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1598118815

I guess bottom is a braid, because it looks tighter overall, I think that would be easier to achieve with more cords than a single cord.

You sir are exactly correct!

I made the braid first without thinking about how tight it should be.  After doing the knot (which took me a little while), I didn't feel like redoing the braid to get them closer.  I also liked having them slightly different to see if anyone would reach the conclusion you did.  Nice job!

And there we have it.  The exact same pattern in the cordage.  But one made with a single strand.  The other made with two strands, which were folded over, effectively making four.

Thanks to asemery for posting this.  A very interesting knot.
