They're shooting over 600 yards with it.

What a lovely backyard to have. Would be great for sling-distance testing as well. And a quad for retrieval

437 grains in an ounce.  So, 3/4th of an ounce.  Carbon fiber is some great stuff for lightweight, very tough bolts or arrows.  A wooden bolt would be around three times that heavy maybe more, depending on what kind of head it had on it.

Back during a few ancient battles with longbows, the crossbows were roughly that draw weight, they out ranged the longbows but bad tactics put the crossbowmen in range of the longbows.

The range used in the video was an airstrip for crop dusters and other light aircraft.

As morbid as it sounds that bolt hitting a person at 20 yards would probably zip right through them without skipping a beat. The power behind modern crossbows is amazing.
