Title: Accuracy after 10,000 throws
Post by Shakli on Apr 21st, 2020 at 3:13pm
Since I am stuck in an apartment I figured distance and power are not that important  :D  so have been working on accuracy.  Finally shot ten thousand shots and ran a test.  (also put my first ever clip up....)

lol that is a VERY tidy apartment !

If I slow the video right down I can see that you appear to be using a fig 8 technique.
Good choice as when you get a longer distance to sling at it's a LOT easier to adjust then if you have locked in a short distance with a sidearm technique :thumb:

How long is your sling ? (measure from centre of pouch to end of release cord).

Also what are you using for ammo ?
Seems to have a decent weight to it.

Good job :-)

Good job! I wish I had a bit more space inside.

I can post the slow version just did not think anyone would want to sit though 10 minutes of that.  I think I am using roman style but not sure.

My sling length is just past my elbow 15+ inches.

Ammo I made my self.  They are little footballs made out of rubber bands.  I had a hard time feeling the ammo in the sling until I got them to 20g.  Nice thing they don't brake windows which I hit a lot when I started.  I can make a short vid on how I make them if anyone is interested.

edit:  Had to clean the house for the clip  ::)  You can see in the left hand corner I put a towel over laundry that needs folding.

I would be interested in seeing the ammo. Sockballs work well but denser safe ammo would be good to have.

That’s serious dedication lol! 10,000 shots in a month is ALOT of slinging.

I throw 300-400 a day.  Now that most of my shots fall on the couch and it is easy to find my ammo it only takes 10 min or so to throw 100.

That’s pretty cool. Unfortunately my wife and kid in our small place would not take kindly to me slinging indoors, lol! I’m interested in the ammo as well.

roman technique ?
that's a new one :-)

But watching your hand and elbow I'll go with a figure of 8 variant :-)

15 inches is kinda short - I've done a lot of experiments with short slings over the years - 18 inches is the shortest I've found to be comfortable.

Or rather lets you sling naturally without trying to 'throw' the missile.
The more woprk the sling does, the less damage your joints take :-)

If you say so its just what I was able to do with out the ammo falling out  :P

I am slinging in the house...  Hitting windows TV computer ect did not want much power figured short would be less power.

As for the ammo vid I hope to film it today get it up tomorrow.

Nice stuff , I’ve been using ping pong balls lately indoors, was a big sock ball fan previously.

Oh! I think I have some in my garage!  I will have to try that with my new weighted sling!

That weighted sling is very interesting, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it after some testing.
