Title: Rawhide White-tailed Deer Pelt Post by Stefanoni on Apr 21st, 2020 at 3:17am
I have a rawhide white-tailed deer pelt, there are four small holes on the back near where the tail was.
I'm not too good at preparing skins, but I got all of the meat and fat off without cutting down to the hairs. Some blood did soak into the skin near the neck and shoulder. $30 The price is negotiable, I'll also accept a trade for a good sling. I'll post better pictures of both sides later today. |

Here's the images.
Like I said, I'm not too good at it, but it is preserved as long as it's dry. |

Looks nice pity bio security laws prevent me from importing stuff like this

well biosecurity - is all dependant on what you write on the customs declaration form.
 for example: 'imitation leather' would probably just sail through. As would almost anything else apart from: 'deer pelt, badly cured'. I've always found that it's not good to over tax customs people at the post office. |

Be really vague on custom forms. Works for me all the time. Never had anything confiscated, inspected thoroughly just not confiscated

Australia is an island, our customs are brutal. Bio security is taken pretty seriously

that's nothing I succesfully sent green foliage to california :-) (vacpacked bay leaves from our bay tree).
As long as you don't tell them and the parcel isn't inherently suspicious - there's no reason for customs to ever open it :-) |

Make something out of it.
A bucket perhaps! |
