Title: Paper glandes
Post by cram on May 24th, 2019 at 1:46pm
I have made some glandes out of paper and water. After that I let them dry. I have noticed that they "flake off" after 3 seconds of being slung. To solve that problem I simply wrapped them with scotch tape. Now my question is, is there a better way of keeping them intact?

glue
glue and natural fibers on the surface.
but why would you need paper ammo?! it seems a waste of materials and time

@ Sarosh

Thanks for the suggestion :) I use paper  because they're safe and "malleable", plus I get the paper from my old notebooks, and another plus since it's summer here in the Philippines I got all the time in the world! :D

Plus the make excellent indoor ammo if you have the room for short range practice

Other members have mentioned paper ammo in the past.  I can see how it would be useful for indoor slinging practice.  For safe outdoor slinging I usually use tennis balls.

papermache is what you want.

Old newspaper is the best material as it's very absorbent.

Cheap wall paper paste is what most people use for paper mache.
Also very cheap and easy to use.

You make up some wall paper paste, mix it with shredded newspaper to form a thick mouldable matrial. mould and let dry.

When I was in the Cub Scouts we'd make paper mache  with chopped up newspaper.  For a binder we used just flour and water.

almost like making paper based playdoh :-)

You can get a cheap handblender for a under a £10, probably best not the use the kitchen one ;-)

Oh and before making the glandes do note that they lose 40-60% percent of their original size
