Hey y'all. I'm new here. I am a undergrad working on my Bachelor's thesis which is on the sling as a historical weapon of war, what made it useful, how it was used, and how it compares to the bow, atlatl, kestros, plumbata,ect.

I would love if any senior alingers wpuld let me know what they have learned in that regard, as well as perhaps allowing me to interview you for my paper.

drop me a line - did similiar 'interview' for another member recently :-)

Also I vaguely recall that one of our long term members is in the la area. (name will come to me soon - I'm getting old, the database retrieval routines are not as efficient as they should be)
And yes, I really do try and register where you all come from :-)

Welcome from Finland! I can't say I'm an expert and my historical knowledge is lacking but I do have a fair bit of practical experience with the sling and lots of theories about slinging backed up by not much :D
