Hey y'all, I've been away from the site a while. I hope everyone is well. I pulled out my bag of slings and realized how long it has been since I went out in a field and through some sporting spheres. I suffered a horrific collar bone shattering in 2010 and it slowed me down a bit. All is well now and I plan on going out later today and throw some golf balls or some baseballs. I included a photo of all of the captive release slings I could find in my bag. My father made all these many years ago.

Some interesting looking slings. Captive release slings are one of the few sling designs I haven't tried out. What do you feel are the benefits?

Agreed, I’d really like to try my hand at making one of those. No idea how to do it though, looks quite complicated.

lol jax sent me one of those slings some years back.
They take some getting used to.
Both david and I nearly smacked ourselves with it. David ended up with it wrapped round his throat at one point !

You take for granted that the release cord stops the sling from coming back at you - with these captive release slings - nothing slows the cord down !
So it just keep on going and ends up coming right back at your head.

I'm tempted to dig it out again and have a play with tennis balls - we lost the baseballs that came with the sling :-( 

It is a great concept.

It's definitely something I would want to have a go with at some point.
