I've already posted in the History of the Sling section but it's only right to introduce myself here.
I've been interested in military history for a long time and am currently working on a book on battle formations of the ancient world, with the focus on the Fertile Crescent armies, Greece, Macedonia and Rome. The book will visit topics like the Macedonian cavalry wedge, Roman line relief, and the like. I am also a member of the Society of Ancients and help with the production of their bimonthly magazine Slingshot (nice name, eh?) Anyone here interested in contributing articles on pre-gunpowder military history or wargaming are more than welcome. One last thing: I haven't a clue how to use a sling. Looking forward to some interesting discussions on this forum. :) |
