It looks like there is no release cord.
If so, how does the shot exit the pouch?
I'm impressed with this staff sling variation and want to reproduce it..
please give some details on construction .

That is really cool! I'd like to make one of those and try it out.

well you can see a cord runig down the handle to timpas hand.
So I'm guessing a captured pouch with a release cord where you hold the sling handle.

It's a neat looking bit of kit and I would guess pretty easy to get accurate with.

Wonder what they'd say if oyu rocked up to a balearic competition with one ;-)

CA is right. The second cord is at the top of the staff closed. Release rope runs hand through the rod tip. For this reason, the slinger will make a decision when the rope is released.
(Use a rope that does not stretch.)

Very cool!

i have experimented with something similar, but wasn't nearly as effective! The thin aluminium rod has less air resistance than the wood I used. Also the ball bearings are much better than stones for this.

Does heavier ammo work as well?

I'm a little confused as to how the cords are attached/released.
I like the rock skipping part too:)

Thanks! :)
This is very simple. The rod end of the two holes. The first is connected to second string. Through the second hole runs the release cord.
This is lightweight and thin, and therefore effective.
Heavier stones can also throw, but not a huge heavy.
The handle must be padding, otherwise you will to hand bladder.

Very nice, how do you find the distance?
do you prefur this type over the traditional type sling?

Thanks Ajax! :)
I do not know the distance of throw. All I know is that the ball bearing flew over the lake.
I prefer traditional sling.
