I just read a new article on http://onnachrichten.t-online.de/c/10/15/75/12/10157512.html showing some interesting pictures about Hamoukar. Hamoukar is the oldest town (2500 B.C.) for which we have evidence that it was destroyed in war. Sling shots made of clay where the main weapon. One of the pictures shows three of them very exactly. The only problem for many of us is that the article is in German - but the pictures not. :)

If I remember well we have already an older thread concerning Hamoukar.

We have this thread in the General Discussion forum that was started yesterday and contains a link to an article about the same findings in english. Though that thread is probably in the wrong category...I think it would be better in the Project Goliath forum.

Looking at the pictures of the clay sling bullets, I was struck by their very nice tear drop shape. These would have flown rather better than spherical bullets (a lower drag coefficient), and would have self aligned unlike the
ellipsoidal glandes.

The illustration of the flattened bullet, after having hit a wall or something, shows that it hit head on.

Has anyone experimented with these tear drop shapes? I recall Hondero (I think) mentioning these shapes in a post some time ago.
